Local Spotlight: To Tell The Tale

Written By: Sean
Self described as pop punk/rock on their myspace To Tell The Tale (sometimes abbreviated as T4) is an energetic new outfit in their local scene. Hailing from Ontario's Durham Region, To Tell The Tale is a group of dudes who seem to want nothing more than to party and make their fans dance all night. Known to be extremely fan friendly T4's infectious blend of melody and pop rock is arguably just as friendly as they are. The band currently only has two songs available for listen on their myspace but if you've ever found yourself tapping your foot along to Mayday Parade or singing along to a You Me At Six song we highly recommend that you give To Tell The Tale a listen.

Considering that the band features a return to the music scene for 4 out of 5 members of the now defunct Enter Ghost, you'd expect to see some of the same stuff that made the synth laden post-hardcore band one of Durham Regions most loved local bands mixed into the T4 sound. Despite this, in commendable fashion, the boys have turned over a new leaf, trading in their breakdowns and eurodance inspired samples for melody and song structures that will make you want to clap along [with dual vocals seemingly being the only thing present in both bands.]

With potential to quite possibly become the most popular local underground band of that genre since These Silhouettes, we here at MD applaud the T4 boys for adopting a sound that isn't necessarily the most preferred in the current breakdown obsessed music local scene. Working hard as ever the boys have been touring all across the GTA trying to establish their name.

The wait for new material isn't going to be a long one either as according to the bands official myspace the boys plan unleash their 7-track EP which was produced and recorded by Derek Hoffman (Brighter Brightest) sometime in the Summer of 2010.

Check them out Here.

The band is also currently trying to get on the bill for Warped tour's Toronto date, fans can vote for them

I agree with some of the things written in this article and I'm glad to see a spotlight on local music but dear lord what kind of brainless twits read this blog? Since when does the way the band members look have anything to do with news or music?

And if the post is long that's good if you're in fact genuinely interested in what's being written about. You only find it long because it doesn't spark your fancy.

^agreed with the local music thing.
^agreed with music had nothing to do with band member's looks.
The only people who care about bands look like are stupid girls who only date guys in bands so they can say 'my boyfriends in a band, i stand right in the front when they play and point to him so everyone knows who i am and who i'm dating.'
this blog isn't the best though. the stuff about music/bands is great but the rest kinda sucks.

I don't know about the part about These Silhouettes.
These guys are decent, but TS is amazing.
About the breakdown-obsessed part... You should have seen the show in Lindsay last night. This Is Death Valley, 'nuff said. Too much bree bree and breakdowns.

LOL what the fuck. this band is so shitty, they sound the exact same as everything else out there right now that is considered to be "pop punk". it's just absolute regurgitated garbage that people continually buy into because they have absolutely no expansion of taste.

Why don't we all have a cup of shut the fuck up, if you don't like the band then keep your undervalued opinion to yourself. The point of this post is to shed local spotlight on talented individuals. If you don't have anything positive to say then don't say it at all.

What's the point of writing something that allows comments and expecting only positive feedback? That's pretty ignorant.

Ok I wrote this article. And let me say with my first comment. LOL @ everything above. WE AS WRITERS will not be bashing any bands on pure opinion. Yes, the sound may be regurgitated, but it's fucking pop punk. How cool are you to point that out? What is your favourite band? I guarantee I'll find a band that sounds like a better version of them. And what the hell does TIDV keep popping up for? Lol just read and formulate your own opinions kids. There's so much hate. GOD

who could ever possibly assume that people commenting on this are in bands, and jealous because they're on some blog by someone who's apparently friends with the band? you call that recognition? i'm going to write a facebook note about my friend's poodle, and you'll all be jealous that the poodle is getting recognition and your dogs aren't... fucking fail at chirping. the band sucks.

lmao get a life bud

Isn't it sad that people who are living pathetic lives feel the need to bash this band. Support local music, music doesn't suck, just because you don't like it doesn't mean others won't. Music doesn't suck, people do.
